Flies carrying Syx1Ahs.PW are viable and have normal wings and eyes at 25oC. The mean evoked excitatory junction potential (EJP) amplitude at the neuromuscular junction is reduced by about 34% compared to wild type in larvae expressing Syx1Ahs.PW at 25oC.
Overexpression of Syx1Ahs.PW using heat shock causes a 67% decrease in the amplitude of the excitatory junctional potential (EJP) in the muscle at the larval neuromuscular junction compared to non-heat shocked larvae. The frequency of miniature EJPs is increased by 67% in heat shocked larvae expressing Syx1Ahs.PW compared to non-heat shocked larvae. Overexpression of both Rophs.PS and Syx1Ahs.PW using heat shock partially suppresses the physiological defects seen in the muscle at the larval neuromuscular junction when either is overexpressed alone.
Syx1Ahs.PW is a suppressor | partially of visible phenotype of Csp2.UAS, Scer\GAL4elav-C155
Syx1Ahs.PW has neuromuscular junction | larval stage phenotype, suppressible by Scer\GAL4elav-C155/Csp2.UAS
Syx1Ahs.PW has neuromuscular junction | larval stage phenotype, suppressible by Scer\GAL4elav-C155/Csp3.UAS
Syx1Ahs.PW is a suppressor | partially of wing phenotype of Csp2.UAS, Scer\GAL4elav-C155
Syx1Ahs.PW is a suppressor | partially of eye phenotype of Csp2.UAS, Scer\GAL4elav-C155
The crumpled wing and rough eye phenotype of adult escapers carrying Csp2.Scer\UAS expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 is partially suppressed by Syx1Ahs.PW at 25oC and completely suppressed by daily heat shocks during late larval and pupal development in these flies (which increase expression of Syx1Ahs.PW). The EJP amplitude is normal if larvae expressing Syx1Ahs.PW are also expressing Csp2.Scer\UAS or Csp3.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155.
