nurse cell & actin filament
Female flies show a gradual reduction in fertility as they are moved from 18oC to 22oC to 29oC. At 22oC, stage 10B egg chambers contain abundant actin bundles that are shorter than normal.
quaWP614 has female sterile phenotype, non-suppressible by Hsap\VIL1Germ.PM
quaWP614 females expressing Hsap\VILGerm.PM at 22oC are completely sterile, in contrast to quaWP614 females, which are moderately fertile at this temperature. The quaWP614 phenotype is not altered by the expression of Hsap\VILGerm.PM, and later in oogenesis the nurse cells of quaWP614 females expressing Hsap\VILGerm.PM contain few if any actin bundles and transport is severely disrupted.
