A 450bp Hsp70 promoter fragment drives expression of a mys cDNA. A 810bp fragment containing the αTub84B 3' untranslated sequences and polyadenylation/cleavage site is fused downstream of the mys sequences.

When tested in the odour-induced jump test, mutants with the heteroallelic combination of mysolfC-x17 and swsolfE-x26 with myshs.PBu show slightly less severely defective responses to iso-amyl acetate and benzaldehyde compared to mysolfC-x17 and swsolfE-x26 alone.
