      Comments

      ple mutant flies can be rescued but rescue is insertion site-specific, presumably due to local enhancers near the transgene insertion. Approximately 20-30% flies survive to adulthood with normally developed but slightly pigmented cuticles. Flies appear normal for locomotion, feeding and grooming.
