Flies bearing one copy of P{GMR-Rac2.N} show a rough eye phenotype. Pigment cells are missing, ommatidial morphology is disrupted and photoreceptor cells are occasionally lost. Two copies of P{GMR-Rac2.N} increase the severity of the phenotype.
