Su(rdgB)8383 is a suppressor of retina phenotype of rdgB9
Suppresses the retinal degeneration phenotype of rdgB9 flies; 50% of rdgB9; Su(rdgB)8383 flies retain a deep pseudopupil at days 4 and 22 under constant light and 12 hour light:dark conditions, respectively. 10 day old rdgB9; Su(rdgB)8383 flies raised in 12 hour light:dark conditions show loss of some R1-R6 rhabdomeres and photoreceptor cell bodies, large variability in R1-R6 rhabdomere size and have holes in the retinal tissue. The electroretinogram light response amplitude of newly eclosed rdgB9; Su(rdgB)8383 flies is approximately 16mV (wild-type amplitude is 24mV).
Selected as: Suppressor of the rdgB9 retinal degeneration phenotype.
