Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

Heterozygotes show a retinal degeneration phenotype, showing light-enhanced deep pseudopupil loss. Rhabdomeres R1-R6 are small, very few rhabdomeres are missing and a few swollen cell bodies can be seen.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Suppresses the retinal degeneration phenotype of rdgB9 flies; 50% of rdgB9; Su(rdgB)116116 flies retain a deep pseudopupil at days 5 and 21 under constant light and 12 hour light:dark conditions, respectively. 10 day old rdgB9; Su(rdgB)116116 flies raised in 12 hour light:dark conditions have uniformly smaller R1-R6 rhabdomeres than wild-type flies, but very few R1-R6 rhabdomeres or photoreceptors are missing, and the overall arrangement of the ommatidia is well intact. The electroretinogram light response amplitude of newly eclosed rdgB9 ; Su(rdgB)116116 flies is approximately 12mV (wild-type amplitude is 24mV).
