Insertion in the second exon, after codon 87.
Cellularised mutant embryos contain body areas with lower cells densities than normal, in which cells have a high number of micronuclei and/or presumptive polyploid nuclei. Analysis of mitoses 15 and 16 in mutant embryos indicates that 2 broad categories of mitotic defect are seen; many cells show a pronounced delay in anaphase onset and chromosome mis-segregation is seen.
Lethality occurs during the third larval instar. Third instar larvae are uncoordinated.
P{lacW} not verified as causing the lethality.
