Description

P{lacW} inserted into sequences that correspond to the first intron of the maternal (type II) CycE gene product, downstream of the second of the two known alternative first exons. The 5' end of the element is nearer the 3' end of CycE, and the element is apparently rearranged. P{lacW} in CycEP2 is inserted within 20 bp of the P{PZ} in CycE05206.

      Mutant for female meiotic segregation: 6.6% X chromosome exceptions from X/X females. 0.5% 4th chromosome exceptions from X/X females. 6.4% X chromosome exceptions from X/Bal females. 0.5% 4th chromosome exceptions from X/Bal females. Affects are not specific to the achiasmate chromosome segregation. Lower levels of X chromosome exceptions than for CycEP7, but a substantial fraction of these are the result on nondisjunction.
