P{lacW} insertion within the vig putative coding region.

P{lacW} insertion at position 74616 of DS00929.

The P{lacW}vask07233 insertion maps within a coding exon of vig. The insertion also maps within the intron between the first and second exons common to vas and solo (since vig lies within this intron). The insertion appears to affect vas function, since it is female sterile in combination with vas3 (see FBrf0111326). It is not known whether or not solo or vig function is affected by the insertion ( date:2015.04.14 ).
