Weak, temperature sensitive allele. At 18oC, homozygous and hemizygous flies have an almost wild-type wing hair phenotype. At 29oC, mutants show moderate changes in wing hair polarity and number of wing hairs per cell compared to wild type.

At 18oC, inII53 frtz3 double mutants have strong mutant polarity and hair number phenotypes in the wing hairs (while either single mutant has an almost wild-type wing hair phenotype at this temperature). At 18oC, fy5 frtz3 double mutants have strong mutant polarity.
