eye disc & photoreceptor cell & axon, with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
eye disc & subretinal glial cell, with Scer\GAL4GMR.PF
The entire salivary gland placode invaginates simultaneously in embryos expressing Rho1V12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4fkh.PH (in contrast to wild type where a small group of cells invaginates at any given time). In the mutant embryos the cells are cuboidal, in contrast to the pyramidal shape of control cells. The resulting salivary glands have multiple cyst-like lumens instead of the single lumen seen in controls.
Expression of Rho1V12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4c381 or Scer\GAL4Kr.PM results in severe defects in germ band retraction. Expression of Rho1V12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 affects dorsal closure but does not disrupt germ band extension or retraction.
Photoreceptors fail to differentiate correctly in eye discs expressing Rho1V12.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF and grow very short axons that extend only within the eye disc but fail to project into the optic stalk. The Bolwig nerve is either absent or fails to grow into the optic stalk. Glial cells are still able to populate the eye discs, although in smaller numbers than in wild type.
