Class I abdominal dorsal multidendritic ddaD and ddaE neurons from lolac46 mutant somatic clones in third instar larvae present a significant decrease in the number of dendrite branch terminals, as compared to controls.
Class IV abdominal dorsal multidendritic ddaC neurons from lolac46 mutant somatic clones in third instar larvae present dendrite branch terminals of similar number but of significantly lower average length, as compared to controls.
ap-positive axons cross the midline in lolac46/lolae76 embryos, in contrast to wild type. These axons then stall when they reach the mediolateral position where the contralateral connective would be found in wild-type embryos. Axons of the pCC and MP1 neurons do not cross the midline in these embryos. Midline glia cells are present in lolac46 embryos.
Mutants have CNS longitudinal interruptions, ISN stalling and failure of SNb innervation. In mutant embryos neuronal and muscle cell identities are normal, though with low penetrance ventral longitudinal muscles can be missing.
