    About 22% of egg chambers from eff8/effRK1859 females contain 32-cell cysts. Large fusomes with an increased number of branches relative to wild-type are also seen.

    The 32 cell cyst phenotype is suppressible by adding heterozygous CycA01545, reducing the proportion of abnormal cysts seen to less than 6%. The addition of Df(2R)59AB also suppresses the phenotype, lowering the number of abnormal cysts seen by threefold. Df(2L)r10 however has no discernible effect on this phenotype.
