Dcp-1^fl.GMR flies carrying one copy of the responsible transgene P{GMR-fl-Dcp-1} have almost wild-type eyes. Flies carrying two copies of P{GMR-fl-Dcp-1} have a weak but reproducible eye phenotype, inducing some pigment cell death. The combination of Dcp-1^ΔN.GMR and Dcp-1^fl.GMR show an additive effect on the eye phenotype.
