Expression of Chi^{ΔSAD.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^dpp.blk1 causes the formation of a new wing margin along the dpp expression domain, and a lack of proximo-distal growth. Expression of Chi^{ΔSAD.Scer\UAS} under the control of Scer\GAL4^ap-md544 leads to severe reduction or elimination of the wing, and in extreme cases a reduction of the notum and poor fusions of the two hemi-notums.
