      When cncA.Scer\UAS.T:Hsim\VP16 is ubiquitously expressed by Scer\GAL469B, parts of the abdominal denticle pattern along the ventral midline of the embryo is replaced with a band of incurved folds, which resemble the T-ribs of the ventral pharynx. In addition embryos have reduced maxillary structures and have general head defects.
