    Most tefuΔ11 homozygous flies (Df(3R)Hsc70-4Δ11 homozygotes in which the lack of Hsc70-4 function has been rescued by Hsc70-4+t14) show pupal lethality, although 12% eclose and are viable. These adult escapers do not survive for very long after eclosion. Escaper females lay a very small number of eggs that do not hatch.
