Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001-mediated expression of Su(var)2-10537.Scer\UAS results in significantly increased survival following infection with S. marcescens compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4Myo31DF-NP0001-mediated expression of Su(var)2-10537.Scer\UAS results in a reduction of DNA synthesis in the gut epithelium after 5 days of infection with S. marcescens, compared to controls.

When Su(var)2-10537.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, no obvious effect is seen on the eye. However when Su(var)2-10537.Scer\UAS is driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PH, eye size is severely reduced and the remaining small eye has a rough texture. This phenotype is dose dependant, leading to complete loss of eyes in many cases.

The addition of hopTum significantly rescues the eye size and roughness seen in Su(var)2-10537.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4ey.PH flies. The addition of Stat92E06346 significantly enhances the eye size and roughness seen in Su(var)2-10537.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4ey.PH flies. The enhancement frequently goes further, progeny grow antenna in place of eyes.
