Conditional expression of sshScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU (GAL80ts has been used to limit expression to the adult stage) results in increased resistance to ethanol-induced sedation in adult flies compared to controls.

When sshScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 is driven by Scer\GAL4da.G32, no effect on hair or bristle morphogenesis is seen.

Expression of sshScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 suppresses the axon growth defect and F-actin elevation seen in the α/β mushroom body lobes when LIMK1Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4ey-OK107. This suppression does not occur in a sickΔ/sickA384 mutant background.

Expression of sshScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4OK107 largely rescues the axon growth and guidance defects seen in homozygous ssh1-11 adult mushroom body clones (which are generated as neuroblast clones in newly hatched larvae). The axon growth defects seen in neuroblast clones of optic lobe and antennal lobe contralateral projection neurons are rescued by expression of sshScer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4OK107.
