VA1d olfactory receptor neuron axon targeting is normal in mutant flies.

Mutant flies that have been challenged with vesicular stomatitis virus show levels of viral replication that are not significantly different to that seen in wild-type controls.

Homozygous flies show a reduced resistance to infection by the fungus B. bassiana and the Gram-positive bacterium Streptococcus faecalis compared to controls, but they show normal survival after infection by E. coli.
