      Precise excision of the P{lacW} element reverts the lethality of raspP630 over raspM82. The P{lacW}raspP630 insertion (which is responsible for the raspP630 allele) is inserted between CG14964 and CG12734, however, rescue experiments and sequence analysis of rasp mutants suggest that neither of these genes corresponds to rasp. rasp actually corresponds to CG11495.
