    Homozygous clones in the eye result in patches of naked cuticle lacking photoreceptors.

    In homozygous clones in the eye disc, cells remain apically constricted several rows posterior to the morphogenetic furrow, in contrast to wild type.

    Stage 5-8 embryos derived from homozygous germline clones show a significant delay of initial glycogen decomposition.

    Embryos lacking both maternal and zygotic Axn function have a naked cuticle phenotype. Homozygous clones in the wing produce numerous ectopic bristles.

    Axnunspecified clones in the eye, show photoreceptor development.

    Axnunspecified pygoF15 double null embryos have a "lawn of denticles" phenotype resembling the phenotype of pygoF15 single mutant embryos. Axnunspecified pygoF15 double mutant clones in the wing result in wing notching and ectopic wing margin bristles, resembling the phenotype of pygoF15 single mutant embryos.

    The addition of pygo10 completely suppresses the photoreceptor cell phenotype seen in Axnunspecified mutants. Axnunspecified pygounspecified double mutant germ-line clones only produces a few eggs that are not fertilised.
