      Compared to controls, mthScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP Scer\GAL4ple.PF flies exposed to paraquat (to induce oxidative stress) show: i) increased superoxide radical generation in the brain; ii) decreased SOD activity in the brain; iii) more peroxynitrite generation in the brain; iv) higher lipid peroxidation in the brain; v) more degeneration of dopaminergic neurons; vi) greater alterations in DA and DOPAC levels; vii) higher levels of JNK signalling and cell death; viii) worse locomotor behaviour in a climbing assay.
