Detailed Description

Homozygotes are recovered at slightly less than the expected frequency. Akap200k07118a/Df(2L)N22-14 animals show 81% viability. 19% of Akap200k07118a/Df(2L)N22-14 adults have at least one extra notal bristle. 11% of Akap200k07118a/Df(2L)N22-14 egg chambers have binucleate nurse cells with ring canal remnants and 3.2% have other defects. The diameters of the inner and outer rims of the ring canals are larger than normal.

Notes on Origin
Discoverer

Separable from: l(2)k07118bk07118b. The majority of the lethality of the original "l(2)k07118" chromosome is not due to the P{lacW}Akap200k07118a insertion, but is due to an unrelated background mutation (l(2)k07118bk07118b).

Comments
Comments

Precise excision of the P{lacW} element reverts the Akap200k07118a mutant phenotypes.
