Description

y2 has been used as a template for terminal gene conversion, resulting in a terminal deficiency that ends at approximately -6000bp relative to the y transcription start site. The end of the truncated chromosome is within the gypsy element present in y2.

      Body colour: flies carrying yTD2-2 (in a y- background) have a pigmentation score of 1 (where 1 = absence of y expression and 5 = wild type) in both the body and wing. Body colour: yTD2-2/y1#8 flies have a pigmentation score of 4 in both the body and wing. Body colour: yTD2-2/y59b flies have a pigmentation score of 4 in both the body and wing.
