Overexpression of 14-3-3εScer\UAS.cCa driven by Scer\GAL4[GMR.PF] in the retina does not affect eye structure.

When 14-3-3εScer\UAS.cCa is driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PF no deleterious effects are seen.

Expression of 14-3-3εScer\UAS.cCa enhances the retinal phenotype seen when Hsap\ATXN182Q.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

The addition of 14-3-3εScer\UAS.cCa enhances the eye phenotypes seen in Hsap\ATX182Q.Scer\UAS, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF animals alone. They have profoundly disordered ommatidia, a thin and disorganised retina layer, and grossly abnormal rhabdomeres.
