When tlk^{dead.Scer\UAS} is driven by Scer\GAL4^ey.PH a massive reduction in head and eye structures is seen, creating a 'pin-head' phenotype. When tlk^{dead.Scer\UAS} is expressed at low enough levels (using Scer\GAL4^hs.2sev) for the animals to survive to adulthood, the only phenotype seen is greatly reduced larval salivary glands. Animals with salivary glands can only be grown at 18^oC.
