Expression of asf1Scer\UAS.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH results in a small, rough eye phenotype.

Expression of asf1Scer\UAS.cMa when driven by Scer\GAL4ey.PH leads to a mild rough eye phenotype. Expression of asf1Scer\UAS.cMa driven by a 2 hour heatshock (driven by Scer\GAL4hs.2sev) at any time during larval development is lethal. When expressed at low enough levels for the animals to survive to adulthood, the only phenotype seen is greatly reduced larval salivary glands. Severe defects are seen in the morphology of the salivary gland nuclei, chromosomes are reduced in size. If these animals develop to adulthood a number of macrochaetae are seen to be missing, and the sex ratio of those adults is skewed towards females.

Scer\GAL4ey.PH; asf1Scer\UAS.cMa flies have a rough eye phenotype.

The small-eye phenotype is suppressed in flies co-expressing asf1Scer\UAS.cMa with Caf1-180Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH.
