Ectopic expression of rl^{hs.T:SV40\nls2,T:Hsim\gD} for 1 hour at various times during development has no effect on the pattern of veins in the adult wing. Similarly, when rl^{hs.T:SV40\nls2,T:Hsim\gD} flies are raised continuously at 29^oC, no effects are seen in wing vein patterning. Ectopic expression of rl^{hs.T:SV40\nls2,T:Hsim\gD} produces blisters in 1-5% of adult wings when rl^{hs.T:SV40\nls2,T:Hsim\gD} is transiently expressed between late L3 and mid pupation (96-168 hours after egg deposition), in addition to an increase in the number of cells within the wing.
