roh^EY04039 homozygous mutant clones in the eye have normal morphology at 1 day old but decreased rhodopsin and then show age-dependent retinal degeneration (including a decrease in rhabdomere numbers, seen in light or dark conditions at 10 days old); ERG recordings are similar to wild type; phenotypes are rescued by excision of the roh^EY04039 P-element.
