Homozygous flies are more resistant to Cricket Paralysis virus infection (after being injected with the virus) than control flies.
Defects are seen in the movement of investment cones in mutant spermatid, which normally move tailwards in a co-ordinated fashion. Almost all cysts from mutant testes display defects in individualisation. In other cysts individually occurs apparently normal.
Faddf02804 homozygous flies show a severe susceptibility to E.coli infection (all flies die within 3 days of infection) and close to wild type resistance to Gram-positive Streptococcus faecalis.
