Mutant develop additional vein segments in the marginal, submarginal, 2nd and 3rd posterior wing cells. Up to 10% of the flies have an additional vein segment in the 1st posterior cell.
netCh86/Df(2L)net62 flies show a strong disturbance of the wing vein pattern; a net of veins and additional wing vein segments develop in the wing, including in the 1st posterior cell.
Homozygous animals exhibit some disryptions of the wing veins. Up to 10% of mutants carry and extra vein in the distal part of the first posterior cells. 20-30% of heterozygous animals develop small extra veins in the second and third posterior cells. In netCh86/net2-45 heterozygotes, some wing veins exhibit wing vein disruptions. Up to 7% of mutants carry an extra vein in te distal part of the first posterior wing cell. netCh86/Df(2L)net62 animals develop severe vein disruptions in the form of nets and segments of veins including the extra vein in the first posterior sector.
Isolated from the Chernobyl population (Ukraine) in 1986.
