Mutants develop a net of veins and several additional vein segments in different wing sectors, including the 1st posterior cell.
Mutants exhibit the formation of networks of additional veins, dilation of the distal part of the first posterior cell, strong swellings at the ends of longitudinal veins, additional vein segments in the first, 2nd and 3rd posterior cells, and vesicles close to the posterior crossvein. When mutant males are crossed with D.melanogaster wild-type females ectopic vein segments are seen varying in size in different combinations of the wing cells. Most frequently, these veins are found in the third posterior and submarginal cells. Sometimes bifurcation of the L4 vein terminus is seen.
Df(2L)net62, Dsim\netST91 has wing vein | ectopic phenotype
Df(2L)net62, Dsim\netST91 has wing vein phenotype
Df(2L)net62, Dsim\netST91 has first posterior wing cell phenotype
Dsim\netST91 Df(2L)net62 interspecies hybrids show a strong disturbance of the wing vein pattern; a net of veins and additional wing vein segments develop in the wing, including in the 1st posterior cell.
When interspecific hybrids are made between Dsim\netST91 D.simulans and Df(2L)net62 D.melanogaster networks of additional veins, dilation of the distal part of the first posterior cell, strong swellings at the ends of longitudinal veins, additional vein segments in the first, 2nd and 3rd posterior cells, and vesicles close to the posterior crossvein are seen.
