Detailed Description
Statement

tyfe00614 adults do not show changes in the number of sLNv neurons, as compared to controls.

Mutant flies show defects in locomotor activity rhythms; under 12 hour light/12 hour dark conditions, the morning anticipation of lights-on is reduced compared to controls, and the rhythm is less robust, resulting in weak (58% of flies are rhythmic) but long periods (27.6 +/- 0.4 hours) under constant darkness conditions.

Genetic Interactions

The weakened rhythmicity seen in tyfe00614 flies under constant darkness conditions is suppressed by expression of perScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf but is not suppressed by expression of either timScer\UAS.cYa or ClkScer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf.

Comments

Expression of tyfScer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf rescues the locomotor rhythm defects seen in tyfe00614 mutant flies.

Expression of tyfScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf rescues the locomotor rhythm defects seen in tyfe00614 mutant flies.

Expression of tyfΔC5.Scer\UAS.T:SV5\V5 under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf fails to rescue the locomotor rhythm defects seen in tyfe00614 mutant flies.

Expression of tyfΔC5.Scer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4P2.4.Pdf fails to rescue the locomotor rhythm defects seen in tyfe00614 mutant flies.
