The rate at which Cenf04787/Df(2L)Fs(2)Ket-RX32 females lay eggs that fail to hatch is significantly higher than the rate from wild type females.

Embryos from Cenf04787/Df(2L)Fs(2)Ket-RX32 mothers have mitotic spindles that are frequently linked together - the severity of this phenotype is variable but highly penetrant. Cleavage furrows form aberrantly, are consistently less robust and have decreased furrow depth: overall, 27.85% of mutant embryos display broken/weak furrows at prophase/metaphase compared to 0.91% of wild type embryos. Astral microtubules are comparable to those in wild type.
