Sirt4white+1 are short lived in a range of dietary conditions and adults show a progressive decrease in climbing ability, as compared to controls.
Sirt4white+1 flies show significantly decreased lifespan and locomotor activity under high calorie diet, low calorie or starvation, while maintaining normal circadian periodicity, as compared to wild-type controls. Despite this, Sirt4white+1 flies still show the expected increases in lifespan and spontaneous activity, and decrease in female fecundity upon calorie restriction normally observed in wild-type controls.
