wing | progressive (with Df(2L)BSC312)
Nbrf02257/Df(2L)BSC312 flies do not show significant defects in ovary development and number of eggs laid per day at different ages is similar to rescued controls. Nbrf02257/Df(2L)BSC312 flies have an age-dependent held up wing phenotype: at eclosion wings are normal but by day 5, 50% of flies show the phenotype (getting progressively worse by day 20, when 90% of flies have held up wings). Nbrf02257/Df(2L)BSC312 flies show age-dependent brain vacuolization (brains have a similar vacuole count to wild type at day 3 but show a significant increase at day 30) and progressive defects in climbing ability (significant by day 20)
Nbrf02257/Df(2L)BSC312 is rescued by Nbr+tFa
Nbrf02257/Df(2L)BSC312 is not rescued by NbrD435A.E437A
Nbr+tFa but not NbrD435A.E437A rescues the progressive held up wing, brain vacuolization and locomotor phenotypes in Nbrf02257/Df(2L)BSC312 flies; in terms of locomotor defects, NbrD435A.E437A leads to significant defects compared to controls at all ages (including the first time point tested, day 2).
