Hemizygous and A2bp1^CC00511/A2bp1^f02600 females are fertile but a large fraction of their egg chambers contain 31 nurse cells and one oocyte.

Mutant ovaries often appear slightly tumorous and their egg chambers contain fusome remnants.

A2bp1^f02600/A2bp1^e03440 females are weakly fertile, but nearly all cysts cells undergo an extra mitotic division so that the egg chambers contain 32 germline cells.
