      Expression of brZ2.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in early larval lethality at 25oC.

      Approximately 78% of animals expressing brZ2.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4P0206 remain as first instar larvae. None of the second instar larvae moult to the third instar although 4% form "L2 prepupae" which are characterised by their uneverted, single club-shaped anterior spiracles and small mouthhooks with a few teeth (characteristic of wild-type second instar larvae).

      Expression of brZ2.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4P0206 causes severe degeneration of the prothoracic gland portion of the ring gland by approximately 9 hours after hatching.
