      Flies expressing CecA1Scer\UAS.cRa under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 show a high level of gut epithelial cell apoptosis (this cell death is not seen in control flies). The commensal bacterial population in the intestine is altered compared to wild type in these flies.
