Description

UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 0.8kb genomic fragment that includes the mir-278 stem loop region. The sequence was isolated from mir-278mirvana-1 mutants and thus contains a sequence polymorphism that mutates the mature mir-278 miRNA at position 5 from U to A.

      Flies that express mir-278KN448.mirvana-1.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF show no overgrowth in the eye but have a mild rough eye phenotype.

      The distances between ommatidial centres in clones expressing mir-278KN448.mirvana-1.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PB is about equal to wild type.
