Expression of RecQ5Scer\UAS.cNa in the eye, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF, results in mild roughening of the normally smooth ommatidial lattice. The number of ommatidia in the compound eye is similar to that in wild-type. However, the ommatidia exhibit disarray along with mislocation of interommatidial bristles.
Expression of RecQ5Scer\UAS.cNa in the eye, under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF interferes with the normal mitotic pattern in the second mitotic wave. Methyl-methanesulfonate (MMS - a DNA-damaging agent) treatment of these flies enhances the perturbation of the cell-cycle progression.
Treatment of RecQ5Scer\UAS.cNa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF with methyl-methanesulfonate (MMS - a DNA-damaging agent) or cisplatin magnifies the rough eye phenotype, whereas wild-type flies are not affected. Exposure does not affect viability.
RecQ5UAS.cNa, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has eye phenotype, enhanceable by mei-41RT2
RecQ5UAS.cNa, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has ommatidial precursor cluster phenotype, enhanceable by mei-41RT2
RecQ5UAS.cNa, Scer\GAL4GMR.PF has interommatidial bristle phenotype, enhanceable by mei-41RT2
The mei-41RT2 mutant enhances the rough eye phenotype of RecQ5Scer\UAS.cNa/Scer\GAL4GMR.PF flies.
