Expression of spokdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4phm.PO, resulting in spok dsRNA, results in first larval instar stage lethality. Feeding Scer\GAL4phm.PO>spokdsRNA.Scer\UAS larvae with 20E, E or 2dE allows a significant percentage to survive to progress through all three larval molts. Feeding these larvae with ketiodiol allows a significant fraction to survive past the first molt but not past the second. Feeding with C or 7dC has no rescuing effect.
