UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adults expressing convGD13967 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
convGD13967; Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL is embryonic/larval lethal. The embryos have an uncondensed ventral nerve cord. When expression is driven with Scer\GAL4l(3)H94-H94, Scer\GAL4how-24B or Scer\GAL45053A motor axon targeting defects are seen in late third instar larvae. With Scer\GAL4how-24B neuromuscular junctions have bouton defects characterized by tangled arbors that fail to extend normally. However, no obvious embryonic/larval neuro-anatomical phenotype is caused by driving convGD13967 with Scer\GAL4elav.PLu.
