UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of huiGD4540 under the control of Scer\GAL4ptc-559.1 results in stubby wings, narrows the L3-L4 intervein region and reduces the anterior crossvein. Gaps in L3 are also seen. Expression throughout the wing using Scer\GAL4C-765 results in small wings and causes L3-L4 malformation and occasional partial ablation of the anterior crossvein. A small posterior compartment is seen when huiGD4540 is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E. The L3-L4 intervein region is not reduced and the anterior crossvein is present. However the phasing of the bristles at the posterior wing margin is disturbed.
Adults expressing huiGD4540 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) can show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies, depending on the particular P{GD4540} insertion line used.
Expression of huiGD4540 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD4540} insertion line used.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in late pupal lethality.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.
