Adults expressing Kdm2^GD7173 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Salivary gland cells of flies expressing Kdm2^GD7173 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Act5C.PU have multiple nucleoli, which are smaller in size than in wild type. Most of the cells have 2-3 nucleoli, while a few of them have 4-7 nucleoli.
