Adults expressing hafGD14353 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) can show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies, depending on the particular P{GD14353} insertion line used.

Adults expressing hafGD14353 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show no significant change in the kinetics of high temperature (46[o]C) induced paralysis compared to control flies.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in viable flies or late larval lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in lethality before the pupal stage or semi-lethality at the pupal stage, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a colour difference between the central Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain of the notum and the surrounding lateral region in 70-80% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 10-20% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.

Stage 17 hafGD14353; Scer\GAL4how-24B embryos display a range of defects in the trajectory of the ISNb with a penetrance of over 60%. ISNb defects include truncation, bifurcation, bypassing the ventral-lateral muscle field (the normal targets for innervation by ISNb), targeting of the wrong muscles and fusion with the transverse nerve. Similar phenotypes are seen at a lower penetrance when Scer\GAL4G14 is used in place of Scer\GAL4how-24B, and are seen in larvae when Scer\GAL4l(3)H94-H94 or Scer\GAL45053A is used. hafGD14353; Scer\GAL45053A larvae have ectopic ISNb branches projecting to muscle 5 or 8.

hafGD14353; Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL is embryonic lethal. When insertion P{GD14353}v36220 is used, hafGD14353; Scer\GAL4how-24B is larval lethal. P{GD14353}v36220 Scer\GAL4elav.PLu embryos have defects in the commissure ladder of the ventral nerve cord.
