UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expressing CG17019GD1336 under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B results in a significantly increased mitochondrial density in indirect flight muscles and faster climbing speeds in middle-aged adults at day 20 (but not in younger or older flies) compared to wild-type controls. When exposed to constant flipping in a Power Tower Machine, adult flies display a significantly longer time to climbing exhaustion than wild-type controls.
Expressing CG17019GD1336 under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B has no effect on body weight or food intake in adult flies.
Adults expressing CG17019GD1336 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
