UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Mothers expressing papiGD828 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU are viable, but lay 30% fewer eggs from day 0 to day 5 compared with control flies. Approximately 20% of eggs laid by mothers expressing papiGD828 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU display dorsal-ventral polarity defects.
Adults expressing papiGD828 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
